Make Visualization with Google Data Studio
few weeks ago, I just learned GDS or Google Data Studio. In my opinion, it’s a simple platform to make a dashboard or visualization dataset. If you newbie like me, you must first know what is GDS, what available tools are, and how it works. So, let’s read on and scroll down…
According to Wikipedia, Google Data Studio is an online tool for converting data into customizable informative reports and dashboards which was released on March 2016. This is very useful because GDS is a free tool, easy to share, easy to read, and customizable for the dashboard.
You can see many template visualization provided by Google Data Studio on the template gallery and you can choose one of categories what do you want.
Other than templates, you must to know how to add data, add page, filter data, layout and add a chart (include many graph like bars, pie, line, etc) on google data studio in here.
Jump to the visualization, I make a dashboard about Athletes and the dataset I got from Kaggle. You can read the first dataset I used. This dashboard can answer some questions.
- How many sports and athletes?
- Where is the highest income for athletes?
- What is the most sport?
- What is the country with the most athletes?
- Who earns the most in Sports?
- what is sport with the fewest athletes?
In Chart setup section you may input other data you wanna blend, input dimension and metrics do you want, may give filter and choose not null value in there, if you wanna change graph style you can go to the chart style, you change the title X and Y axis, graph’s color.
So, for answer some questions this final dashboard I have. Check in here
Thanks for reading, I hope it’s useful. suggestions and feedback will be very valuable so you can connect to Twitter or LinkedIn to talk to much
